A BLANK PIECE OF PAPER

“Impossible!” he shouted. “ I can’t bear it, what the hell are you talking?” “ horrible, really horrible” he cried out and fell parallel on the floor fainted.  The college hostel was thunder stuck.  A gradual continence  of  gleaming lights could be seen from each room even though it was late midnight. Almost all the students surrounded. Remaining eager heads were found stretched out of the doors. “ No problem, just a headache, was suffering from strong temperature also” I managed to escape and dissolve them all. Now our roommates only remained there. I and Gari took him to bed from veranda.
Gari has gone. The ceiling fan still pours its dry air on him. I shouldn’t have told him now I thought. It was not at all a suitable occasion to tell him such a news. I remembered the words of him as union chairman. When he gave New year message to the students. “ There is a blank piece of paper in front of you. Make sure that your pen is well filled and be ware of  spelling mistakes thus let’s write a beautiful poem….” All most an interesting celebration it was. Such a new year celebration maybe the first and last one in my college life. I thought thus. All seemed well. The rays of that bright day didn’t give me any clue about what is waiting for me at night.
It was a cool, uninteresting evening  that his mobile hand set rang with  an unknown number. A female flurting sounded on the other side. “Today for the first time I got a mobile phone for myself. I just mixed my papa’s and mamma’s mobile numbers together hoping to get a good friend. Sorry if I disturbed you.” ‘Welcome” he replied, as against his usual answer to unknown calls “bye”.
Friendship was transformed into romance. His Occasional  recharge rate was unnaturally increased. His calls remained throughout the whole night. Once she expressed her wish to meet him in person. He also was longing the same as her photos she had send to his phone motivated him to do nothing other than meeting her as fast as possible. The spot was determined. I and he waited for about three hours at the resort. We tried our best to call her but in vain. The net work said that her phone was switched off.
At that night he was more confused and highly tensed. He ate and drunk nothing. I compelled him to eat and drink saying about the probabilities of her inconvenience.  At last, he ate sufficiently from the third day.
It’s two months from that incidents. When I, ‘unfortunately’, got in Taj Hotel where I could see one party is going on. Unfortunately again I happened to see a girl just like Asha, with a young man, dancing hand in hand and getting into a room. I was totally disturbed.  After a longtime of thinking I made sure that it was herself. And again unfortunately I told him this night.
As usual, I got up at 6.30. His usual time was 7 AM. I called him several time. But there was no response. I assured that he was no more. I was shocked to see his mobile ringing. Asha was on the other side. She, in a road accident, lost her mobile. This is the duplicate sim she collected from the dealer. She asked me where is Harish. I told nothing. She added that there was a wedding ceremony of her twin sister  who was just like her in shape and conduct. She asked Harish again. Having no answers, I searched for the poisonous pills that Harish used. A Blank piece of paper began to haunt me and lead me to a severe explosion, after which I would be no more.
